There are several reasons to be scared and some to be concerned.
With this, a certain Spanish somebody needs to be both scared and concerned.

A mere 310 points in between Nadal and Djokovic is the ATP ranking.
I do have complete faith in Rafa, though. His early exit from Roma Masters hurt him, yes -- but it awarded him time to rest.
And LOOOOKIE!
TWO Swiss players in the Taf - I mean, TOP TEN! *yay Stan!*

WTF?! o.O That means Djerk and Stan (as well as the doubles people) have only a day or two to prepare. (The first person mentioned = YAY; for the latter = *petpet* good luck, Stan.)
Who schedules for ATP anyway? Are you really trying to commit suicide?
Keep in mind that if you run down your top cash cows -- read: your CONSISTENT top players (Roger and Rafa, as well as the Spanish armada considering this is their preferred surface) -- you'll have a less than enthusiastic audience. Now, I'm not saying that the "other" players don't have the celebrity power to lure people in; I'm just saying that it's the TOP players who do a better job at it.
ATP, listen. Tiring your top players out spells suicide. No top players into the later stages of competition spells lost profits for the tournament director. (But that spells CHANCES for lower ranked players.)
Pfft, all of you.

I eventually moved the chains on my SPNfic yesterday, and it shows no signs of winding down. It's less than a third complete at 19,603, and if it weren't for the fact that I yearn with a young lover's need to fill in another prompt of my
spn13 table, I'd heave its fat, cottontailed ass out the window. But no, I'm obsessed with the giddy pleasure and sated, post-coital, "I need a cigarette" satisfaction of seeing a prompt turn blue.
Dear God, I sound like a pregnant woman peeing on an EPT. My baby. What has fandom done to my brain? Any road, SPNfic will be set aside as soon as the second section is complete. I need to work on other plotbuns, and besides, my
spn_summergen prompt will be sent on the 22nd.
When not taking dictation from a carrot-guzzling bun, I read a little Unfinished Tales of Middle-Earth. Christ, but Christopher Tolkien is a pedantic, insufferable bore. I nearly fell asleep during the foreword. His reasons for selecting the pieces he did might pop the buttons on his tweed trousers, but I couldn't give a damn. Nor would I give a damn if the knowledge came with a free side of piping hot cunnilingus performed by the elf of my choice. I just want to read the stories.
The bric-a-brac and bunting of story-building are only of interest to the builders, and often that interest is constrained further still to the works of their own craft. Readers don't care that you came up with the story in mid-poop or while engaged in a bit of sudsy fun with the shower wand. They just want to read it without you wanking furiously over their shoulder and interrupting the mind movie in their heads by scribbling production notes in the margins.
~deep breath~ I'm better now. It just makes me irritable to see someone trying so desperately to prove their genius with so many bombastic pronouncements. I don't care what you thought mattered, Christopher. I'm only concerned with what the story tells me, and I don't care that it mightn't tell me the story it tells someone else. Stop shoring up your own dubious claims to literary l33tness by cannibalizing your father's doodle pads.
OK. I'm really done now.

Emily was on the computer for close to 11 hours today. Maybe she won't feel the need to be online all day tomorrow and I can write a spoiler report and get the official details and ratings report done. Right now I have another window open, and I've already found a few articles I can work with for extra news (possibly bullets, but more likely individual articles). I'll have to save the links.
Anyway, two things annoyed the hell out of me today:
( Cut because it got longer than I thought... )
Ok, now I'm going to save those news links and look for a few more, then I'm gonna head to bed.
Oh! I almost forgot--I watched most of Air Force One on tv tonight. I didn't know Paul Guilfoyle was in that one. *pets him* I was just going to watch it for a half hour or so, then head to my room to putz around, but I ended up watching it to the end. :P
Also: every time I see William H Macy, I always think of that picture of him with the other guys from "In Enemy Hands" with their arses showing. It scarred me for life, seeing his ass. >.<

Few sights in nature can compare to the sheer magnificence of a volcano erupting in full flow.
But while scenes of molten lava are relatively commonplace, this otherworldly picture of Chaiten Volcano in southern Chile shows a truly spectacular, and devastating, volcanic phenomenon.
As clouds of toxic ash and dust tower into the sky, they ionise the air, generating an explosive electrical storm. Colossal forks of lightning spark around the noxious plume as it spews from the volcano's crater, creating an image of raw, terrifying energy - as if the air itself were ablaze.
Now, the worst-case scenario is the collapse of the volcano accompanied by a "pyroclastic flow" - a devastating super-eruption of scorching dense gas and molten rock that would roll down the mountainside at 100mph or faster, incinerating and flattening all in its wake.
Thankfully, experts think this is unlikely at this stage.

Torchwood and Tin Man arrived yesterday. :D I might spend the day watching stuff from the DVDs if my dad isn't home (since he lays claim to the big tv and I can't stand watching stuff on the portable player if I can help it).
In the meantime, since I don't expect to be back online until the middle of the night (Emily will probably commandeer the compu-tar), let me take you waaaaay back.
I was on YouTube the other night and came across this video and just felt a bit nostalgic.
I always envied the man's lips, I gotta say. :P

yeah, so i tried rrreeeaaalllyyy hard yesterday to post my new fic of what i wish had happened b/t to Danny & Rikki in the last episode of CSI:NY but i was soooo darn tired from getting up at 7 a.m. (after only 2 hours of sleep!) and having to go to DHS & out to eat for breakfast with the folks & run errands for mom's employers, etc. yeah, i couldn't get my mind awake enough to do such a simple task as post my fic...i will eventually, tho. i would today, but i'm not in the mood to it...right now, lol.
i wish sami would email me already!!! i miss him when he don't write to me :(
well, ratgurl wrote back to me, atleast. she sent me a link to a really good youtube video (made by sugah, ugh) but it was still quite good cos who doesn't love some carmine giovinazzo & tim mcgraw??? IT ACTUALLY GAVE ME CHILLS, YA'LL!!! :)
i hope that when i upgrade to high-speed internet, i can upload some of my csi:ny vids. i made a couple for my mommy of DL cos she's a DL fan (i still love her, tho) & i made a couple DnA vids (Danny/Aiden, gosh i miss her!!!) & i made some DF vids & a few Danny-centric vids just cos i love him so much...my last video was of Danny & Rikki...oh, i love em together, what can i say??? i also plan to do some Danny/Angell ones...maybe even a Flack/Angell one...someday...soon...i procrastinate waaayyy too much, lol.

I want to fic today, but my SPNfic just isn't tweeting my tweedlers. The first paragraphs of Et Tu IX have insinuated themselves into my brain in sultry enticement, but I'm just torpid. I could write on either of them if I'd just focus, but my mind keeps turning to the books I could be reading or to the conjuration of smutty scenarios involving Flack and ass play.
No, I don't know why. I loathe ass play. Maybe it's because I like anything that will arouse my sexual partner, or the sex partner of my OFC. Besides, Flack strikes me as a kinky bugger behind closed doors...

I typed up this post on Notepad first, because there was no way I could finish typing it up all in one go. :P
Anyway, just gonna to briefly comment on #3.15, "Elephant's Memory", because I'm lazy. Haha. And also because the episode was pretty depressing, I didn't feel like watching it again so soon. Sigh. My poor Reid. *comforts him* I can't imagine how awful his high school days must've been, being a 12-year-old genius stuck in a class full of 18-year-olds. (That is, if Ed Bernero and Co. didn't do a retcon of Reid's backstory that we didn't know about. Harhar.) I also think that it was kinda gutsy of CBS to air the episode on the anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings (I didn't even realize that it was the anniversary until someone pointed it out. Oops). I don't feel that they were trying to exploit the situation or anything, but that they were trying to tell the story from the UnSub's point of view, which is something that most people don't see. But, yeah... You may disagree, but that's just my take on it. :)
Moving on...
#3.16 - "In Heat"
Now, this episode I'm very happy to recap. Quite a few squee-worthy moments in the episode (pretty rare for a show like CM), all involving JJ and Will LaMontagne, Jr. Whee! I've been hoping to see him again. Josh Stewart is pretty cute. But I do not like his Southern drawl, it's a little odd. I do think he's painted himself into a corner with the bad accent, it's not as if he can just turn off the accent and pretend that LaMontagne never had one. LOL. This episode also sees Stewart's former Third Watch castmate, Tia Texada (she played Sgt. Maritza Cruz), making an appearance on CM as the Cop-of-the-Week (CotW): Miami-Dade PD Detective, Tina Lopez. I gotta say, at the risk of sounding mean and shallow, what happened to her face?!? She did not look like that when she was on Third Watch. I last saw her when she popped up on CSI: Miami a while ago, and I had the same reaction.
Anyway, with all these former Third Watch actors popping on CM, I think there is a list that is begging to be made. LOL! They must've had a great relationship with their former bossman, Ed Bernero, to agree to a guest-star spot on his show. Heh. Yup, so I'm gonna compile the list of actors formerly on Third Watch, who have appeared on CM thus far. Sigh. I only started watching the show sporadically during its fifth and sixth (final) season, so I didn't get a chance to really get to know the show very well. Here we go:
Legend: Actor name (Character on Third Watch) - Character on CM (Episode title)
~ Chris Bauer (Fred Yokas) - Dr. Theodore "Ted" Bryar (Derailed)
~ Jason Wiles (Officer Maurice 'Bosco' Boscorelli) - UnSub (Psychodrama)
~ Skipp Sudduth (Officer John 'Sully' Sullivan) - Detective Stan Gordinski (Profiler, Profiled) / Also directed "About Face".
~ Anthony Ruivivar (Carlos Nieto) - Lt. Ricardo Vega (Ashes and Dust)
~ Josh Stewart (Officer Brendan Finney) - William LaMontagne, Jr (Jones, In Heat)
~ Eddie Cibrian (Jimmy Doherty) - Joe Smith (In Birth and Death)
~ Yvonne Jung (Holly Levine, married to Anthony Ruivivar) - Claire (In Birth and Death)
~ Michael Beach (Monte 'Doc' Parker) - Father Marks (Lucky)
~ Tia Texada (Sgt. Maritza Cruz) - Detective Tina Lopez (In Heat)
There might have been others, but these are the ones that I actually recognize. :P
( Full recap of #3.16, after the cut )
Well, that's that. Overall, I think it was a great episode. We finally had some character development for JJ - she's been seeing Will LaMontagne for a year now - and I'm pretty sure that it's partly because of A.J. Cook's pregnancy that Will was re-introduced. He is so JJ's baby-daddy. Heh. I wonder how things will progress for them. I haven't seen "The Crossing" yet (still downloading), but I do know that JJ reveals her pregnancy at the end of the episode, I think?

But it ain't Roger Federer this time.
It's STANISLAS WAWRINKA! *snugglesnuggle*
He was up 3-0 versus Roddick and then the American retires!
:D He's into the Roma Masters FINAL! Yay!
the Ass needs to lose against Gollum.

"It's tough for Rafa. I feel for him. He was on such a great streak for the last three years, but I'm sure he'll bounce back either at Hamburg or Paris anyway." -- Roger Federer, when asked in his post-match presscon what is the difference now that Rafa's out of the running.
For some reason, his loss against Stepanek is harder to "accept". (For me, at least.) *shakes head*
The top players are tired. They're always there in EVERY major tournament. It doesn't seem fair but that's the game. Some are just better than others. But good things must end (or PAUSE) some times.
Just think, other players just have 1, 2, 3, or 4 career titles (none of those are from Masters Series) because of Roger and Rafa. Now that they're getting pretty tired, it's an opportunity for other players to show that they're good, too. But that doesn't mean the top players are fading. For all we know, their (esp Roger's and Rafa's) stars will forever be there.
It's just that.... I'm not used to seeing Roger and Rafa LOSE. It worries me to no end. Especially now with the Ass gaining up on them.
John McEnroe said that maybe Roger is getting bored, that there is nothing to be excited about anymore for him. Maybe so. The novelty of winning has run out for him after 54 career titles.
Ohwell. That's how the game works. Especially when you're having a crappy year. Hamburg's up next. DEFEND, Roger, DEFEND.
